Episode
Australia

Australia is undergoing a significant energy transition, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions and adopting cleaner, renewable energy sources.

Australia has increasingly invested in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind energy. The country has immense potential for these energy sources, due to its favorable climate and vast areas available for the installation of solar panels and wind turbines. Furthermore, the Australian government has set a target of achieving 50% renewable energy generation by 2030.

Coal plant closures: Australia has been gradually closing older, less efficient coal plants. This is part of the country's strategy to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions. The closure of these plants is being encouraged and driven by the increased competitiveness of renewable energy.

Clean energy for remote communities: Due to its vast territorial extension, Australia has remote communities that are not connected to the main electricity grid. The government has implemented projects to provide clean, renewable energy to these communities through microgrids and solar and battery systems.
